Molyvos — Mithymna — is one of Lesvos' most distinctive settlements. Stone streets climb toward the castle and fall back toward the harbour, beach and Aegean.

Start with ouzo and meze. Look for ladotyri and local cheeses, fresh fish, seafood and Kalloni sardines. Take home Lesvos olive oil. For sunset, head toward the harbour or a beach bar with the Aegean in front of you.
Molyvos is best explored on foot. Wear comfortable shoes for the cobbled lanes, plan the climb toward the castle before the hottest part of the day, and leave the harbour for the evening.
